It could be the thread is jammed together underneath, where the bobbin is housed. Depending on the machine, although most have a way of getting into the bobbin bit, lift up and have a look. Cut your threads and start again. Your tension may be set wrong.
To operate a sewing machine, you will need a place to set the machine up, thread, bobbins and a needle for your machine and fabric type.

Sewing machines are used to fasten pieces of fabric together by using needle and thread, just like you would if you were sewing by hand, only much faster and neater.
If you use straight pins to hold the pattern pieces to your fabric, be sure to remove them before sewing because the machine needle might hit one. If this happens, the sewing needle might bend or break and, in either case, the needle would no longer work.
You would put your finger under the needle< so u didnt have to stab urself
He invented the sewing machine!haha ur so funny.he didn't actually invent the sewing machine, Elias Howe was the original inventor(who eventually sued Singer for taking his idea)Singer improved the original invention by making it a smaller size that was more convenient for family and home use.
Not all sewing machines are compound machines. The definition of a compound machine is one the contains more than one machine within the same case. A machine that is not only a sewing machine but also an embroidery machine would be considered a compound sewing machine. A really good compound sewing machine is the Husqvarna Diamond sewing machine.
Charles Wiesenthal was awarded the first British patent for a mechanical device to aid the art of sewing, in 1755. His invention consisted of a double pointed needle with an eye at one end. The needle was grabbed by mechanisms on either end and passed back and forth - unlike the typical modern sewing machine with the needle remaining attached at one end and bobbing up and down. From 1790 to 1829 a number of sewing machines were developed that worked more like modern ones with a single needle using a chain stitch. in Britain, Newton and Archibold introduced the eye-pointed needle and the use of two pressing surfaces to keep the pieces of fabric in position, in 1841. Over in the USA what would be recognized by most people as a sewing machine came about through the inventions and improvements by John Fisher in 1844, Elias Howe in 1845, and Isaac Singer in 1851 culminating in the formation of the Sewing Machine Combination in 1856 - the precursor of the Singer Sewing Co.
First, Issac singer invented the sewing machine and that didnt work so Walter hunt recreated it and when he finished it, it worked but he did not patent it because he thought it would cause unenployment.
Singer Sewing Co 7442 30 Stitch Sewing Machine would be a great sewing machine to use to make baby dresses.

Sewing machines use automated needles and thread to construct garments and various other things. Many times they are powered by a pedal and all you need to do is guide the material under the needle. Answer: first you select a font you want. Then you put whatever you want to sew under the needle. Last you press the go button. When finished you cut the string from the sewing machine and voila, your done
