The problems in Britain were
1. The British would still think of black people as slaves
2. There weren't many jobs there
3. also they had not much money
Since the US became independent of Britain as a result of the Revolutionary War, Britain did not come to set slaves free in America. It was not until after the Civil War that the slaves were freed by constitutional amendment.
Slaves would be free there.
Some slaves thought they would be free if they worked hard, but their masters would just keep them if they worked well. If they were bad their master would kill them, so no, the slaves were not really free.

it started after the civil war. when slaves were free, the kkks would capture the freed slaves at night. the kkks would hang the freed slaves on a tree. then when the slaves died the kkks would born there bodys.
Slaves were better off free (although if they were free, they would not be called slaves). However, even freed slaves had to deal with racist attitudes and laws (for example, African Americans could not vote until well after the Civil War).
He was not against nor for slavery. he would free the slaves if it helped end the war or not free the slaves to help end the war.
The state that did not free the slaves was Delaware. Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri did not free slaves either.
