yes you can . silver foil gives off heat so putting water in it would just make the water hotter.
A black light will not illuminate silver foil, as it does not contain phosphors that react to UV light. Iridescent foil may reflect some UV light from the black light, but it will not glow or illuminate like fluorescent materials would.
Black spray paint because it absorbs while tin foil reflects. So you know that the black spray paint will get hotter/ warmer faster.
Black foil would attract heat and burn the potato if you put it in on a too high heat, or left it in too long, it would be very unpredictable but silver foil reflects heat, and cooks it slower and is easier to tell when you have to take it out : it's just easier!
Silver will tarnish. The black is silver oxide. It will polish away with good silver polish. Or mix baking soda and water, place a bit of aluminum foil in the water, put the silver in and let it soak for a few hours.
Black absorbs but silver reflects. Medium to dark green is best absorbing colour. That's why nature has so much greenery -- tree foliage, evergreen trees and bushes etc.
The aluminium foil will probably melt.
