If Betelgeuse (beetle juice) exploded then we would experience a supernova. actually Betelgeuse already had it's supernova. It's predicted that earth may see the supernova in around 2012-2013 around that year.

Editing Correction:

You can't detect a star going supernova before the light has reached us. This answer is biased. Claims of Betelgeuse supernova light reaching us 2012 is false. In fact it might not even go supernova the next 100'000 years. It might also be that Betelgeuse has a unsymmetrical shape and therefor is seen as shrinking. Either way, it would light up the sky as much as the full moon for a few weeks and then be visible to the naked eye fading for about a year. Also Betelgeuse is too far away from our solar system (640 Ly) to do any harm.

What would happen if Betelgeuse was your solar system star?

If the star Betelgeuse replaced the Sun, most planets will be inside the star, even Jupiter. It would outshine the Sun like the Sun outshines the Moon.

What will happen when Betelgeuse explodes?

If the Sun was replaced by Orion's star Betelgeuse , its size would completely engulf the earth. Also it would extend past the orbit of Jupiter, and most of the planets would be inside the star including Jupiter. Betelgeuse would outshine the Sun like our Sun outshines the Moon. Unfortunately the Earth would have a "Front Row Seat" when the Red SuperGiant blows itself into oblivion. The explosion would be so bright that the star in Orion (constellation) which is 640 Light Years away. Days would still change from day into night, but for a few weeks or so it would appear like there are two Suns in the sky. this is what would happen when Betelgeuse explodes :)

How long does it take light to reach earth from Betelgeuse?

Betelgeuse is a red supergiant star about 640 light-years from Earth. So light from Betelgeuse takes 640 years to get here. Here's an interesting fact; the star Betelgeuse is probably near the end of its life, and may explode in a supernova explosion any time. Very massive stars like Betelgeuse live fast and die in under 100 million years, and Betelgeuse will probably go supernova within the next 10,000 years. This is like no time at all in cosmic terms, but in terms of a HUMAN lifetime, it probably will NOT happen while we're alive to see it. But it could. In fact, Betelgeuse might have exploded 500 years ago, and we wouldn't know it for another 140 years!

Would it be possible to see the star Betelgeuse even if that star had died hundreds of years ago?

When we look at stars, we are seeing the light that they are emitting. That light could have left them many years ago. The light from Betelgeuse takes over 640 years to reach us. So if it exploded today, we would not see that explosion for over 640 years. So it is possible that it is already gone, but the light that left before it went is still coming towards us.

If you say Betelgeuse three times in a dark hallway what will happen?

The movie ghost beetlejuice will jump out. boo.........

What would happen to us if earth exploded?

We would all die

Did betelgeuse die?

The death of a star is an event that stretches over hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of years. The exception is the explosion of a star, which can happen in as little as one day. Betelgeuse is considered to be a dying star. We know for sure that it did not explode at any time up until roughly the year 1370, because when we look at Betelgeuse in the sky tonight, we see it as it was in 1370, and the light that left it at that time is just reaching us now. It might have exploded since then, but we won't know that until we can see it. For example, if Betelgeuse exploded in 1776, then we'll see the explosion some time around the year 2415 or 2420.
