During Anakin's flip over Ob-Wan Obi-Wan chopped Anakin's legs and remaining human hand. Without his hands and legs, Anakin was sliding down to the lava stream where the lava made contact with Anakin's clothes and burned him alive. Obi-Wan took Anakin's lightsaber (which Anakin dropped when Obi-Wan chopped Anakin's legs and hand) and left him there.
