It is likely that many things, perhaps most things, in The Bible did not happen. In spite of this, people have held the Bible to be holy, with many regarding it to be literally true in every respect. Whether or not the Bible describes actual events and real people, millions of people have followed the Bible and worshipped its God.
It is only in recent decades that many people, realising that the Bible might not be actually true, have begun to discard belief in the Bible and in religion.
