There would be no life because with out the planets and the sun pulling on each other they would spin out of control and possibly crash into each other.

If gravity or inertia stop working what would happen to the earth?

If gravity and Inertia stopped working the planet would fly or float away from he sun and get EXTREMELY cold. And everything will die.

What would happen if only gravity acted on earth?

We would go into the sun because we don't have any inertia.. We would die

If the moon did not have inertia as it travled around the earthwhat would happen?

If the moon suddenly decided to stop pusing forward (inertia), the balance between inertia and the earths gravity would cease and the moon would come crashing into us. :)

What would happen to an object in orbit around a planet if the planet's force of gravity were stronger than the object's inertia?

The object would crash into the planet.

Are you saying inertia is a source of gravity?

Gravity is related to masses. Inertia is simply another effect of masses. I would say that the mass is the source, both for gravity and for inertia. The basic unit, however, is the mass.Gravity is related to masses. Inertia is simply another effect of masses. I would say that the mass is the source, both for gravity and for inertia. How would zero gravity affect inertia?

Zero gravity does not affect inertia. The inertia of an object is an inherent property of the object and is directly proportional to the object's mass.

What will happen if planets got out of their orbits?

Planets can't really get out of their orbits because of gravity; if gravity somehow stopped having an effect, the planets would continue in a straight inertial line with inertia from the point at which gravity stopped.

What force is responsible for the orbit of the planet in the solar system?

That would be gravity and inertia.

What attractive force keeps the moon in orbit around earth?

Gravity is what keeps them in attraction. The force of Gravity is determined by the mass and distance between two or more objects. The other force that keeps the moon in orbit is the moon's inertia. Without inertia the moon would simply fall into Earth; because of Gravity, the same would happen with the planets and the sun.

Would inertia balance work in the absence of gravity?

yes because inertia balances do not require gravity to opperate. The vibrations (back-and-forth motions) are solely affected by the mass placed on the balance.
