Opinion: It could be good or bad. It depends on what is in place of it.

Opinion: It wouldn't be much different than the place it is today (for better or worse).

The only difference is that people will not preach about their religion, nor will there be prayers, mentioning of God, or debate over who is right about the afterlife and so on.

However, there will still be racism, sexism, murder, rape, corruption in politics and the human mind over all, discrimination, people arguing over who's right about which lifestyle suits who the best, child abuse, abusive partners, animal abuse, people being denied rights, and so on. There will still likely be compassion, joy, mercy, righteousness, love, equality, tolerance, and so on.

For some, their religion only compounds any of the above and justifies it, but for others, their religion combats any of the above and keeps it at bay so that others haven't a chance to experience it. Without it, there would be one less thing to play a part in or being used for repelling bad or good, or enhancing good or bad.

No// The world would be better off without "Organized religion". Spirituality is a good thing..a great thing! Organized religion gives us War, Cults, Child abuse, and mass delusion. Its sad as human beings we have such a hard time differentiating the two causing so much harm.

NO! In my opinion, I think that world cannot live without religion because if their is no culture than no one will know who their are, they wont have the time to express who they are in religion and no one will have any background.

I do not believe that the above answer is a fair assessment of what culture truly is. As to whether or not the world could live without religion, that is not a simple yes or no answer. I agree with the previous poster about one point; strictly speaking, an individual's philosophy is a core component in their culture. However, not all philosophies are religious in nature, nor is philosophy the only factor involved in culture.

In the end, each individual entity would have to decide to live without a religious belief structure and learn how to live as such. Some are brought up with such a philosophy, others grow (objectively speaking) into it.

Can the world live without religion? Technically speaking, yes. However, the human psychology is innately tending toward a belief in something more than us. So the likelihood of such a world in the near future is incredibly unlikely. There are too many of us with a spiritual outlook for it simply to go away.

That said, we still have to factor in exactly what you mean by the word religion.

Religion is as old as time itself, in one form or the other. Humans will always need something to anchor themself and to identify themself with.
