What would happen to the baby if you were pregnant and you did not know it and you had your period and used a tampon?

If you're using condoms then you need to use them correctly - it's pointless using condoms if you're going to let them come off inside your vagina to risk pregnancy and STI's/STD's. If the condom came off then remove it as soon as possible, at some point you obviously found out you had the condom inside you if asking this question - also, why didn't your partner tell you?! You will need to consider emergency contraception and STI/STD screenings as soon as possible, and be more careful next time.

It is biologically impossible for you to menstruate while pregnant - menstruation is a specific bodily function that follows ovulation if pregnancy does not occur, you do not ovulate or menstruate while pregnant. Using a tampon won't hurt the baby per say, it would however give the mother a serious vaginal infection and risk her contracting TSS (which may then impact on the baby).

∙ 16y agoNothing would happen to a baby if you used a tampon as directed. HOWEVER, if you have your regular period it is unlikely that you are pregnant, anyway.

It wouldn't hurt the baby, but why would you put in a tampon, if you're pregnant you don't have your period.

Firstly I will say: I'm a guy but I will try to reassure you with the knowledge i know. if a female is pregnant she will not have here period (from what I know) and i have never heard of a case were a female would have her period when she is pregnant, the reason for this is because it is a common sign to check if you are pregnant. so my answer for you would be : that wouldn't happen

You cannot do this, it would be embarrassing for you, so wear a tampon, or stay out of the pool.

You could. But the period you had and the spotting you are now experiencing would point more to a miscarriage. If you had a period, you are no longer pregnant if you were. The stuff that comes out during your period would need to stay in there for the baby! Check to make sure you got your tampon out. Believe it or not, this happens to alot of women.
