How did Israel deal with the cold war?

Part of what Israel did was develop nuclear technology based on plans that had been taken from the French. The USSR was allied with Israel's enemies, and viewed as a threat to Israel. At one point, to discourage the USSR from attempting to attack them, Israel strategically openned up its nuclear missle silos at a time when it knew that Soviet spy satalites were monitoring them, not as a threat, but rather to make sure that the Soviets knew that if they did attack Israel directly there would be reprecussions.

Have there been any nuclear wars between states after the civil war?

No.A nuclear war means two (or more) combatants use nuclear weapons to decimate the population and forces of the enemy. There have been no conventional (non-nuclear) wars between any States since 1865. There have been no nuclear wars either. You would have read about it, seen it, or been dead by now.

Does Democratic Republic Of Congo have nuclear weapons?

no (at least not that we know of). However their uranium resources have been utilized in the manufacturing nuclear weapons (though the mine that supplied uranium has been closed since 1960). There are some concerns of illegal mining activity, but they do not pose a major threat in the issue of nuclear programs. Democratic Republic of the Congo signed the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and also has signed but not yet ratified the African Nuclear Weapons Free Zone (Treaty of Pelindaba). just google it (:

Would the nuclear explosions in Chernobyl and Japan affect the Ozone and climate?

Very unlikely. Also neither were nuclear explosions:Chernobyl was a massive steam explosion in the cooling system, and Japan was a combination of steam explosions and maybe hydrogen/oxygen explosions. The nuclear releases in both cases were due to breaches of the containment by these explosions. If they had been nuclear explosions many miles from the plants would have been leveled and that did not happen.
