What is the cause for the instrument cluster fuse to blow every time the shifter is placed in reverse on a 2002 Ford F250?

You have a short to ground. Look on your trans for a wire that is frayed/damaged etc from the reverse indicator. If you don't find any there, look around your reverse lights in the rear.

What causes a 2001 Ford Taurus to have no dash lights and turn signal lights always on but blink OK?

I am not sure, but my Ford Taurus is doing the same thing. I found that if I take the positive battery cable off for about 10 minutes and put it back on, they will work for about 2 weeks. I found on my wife's 2001 Mercury Sable that the black connector going to the instrument cluster was loose. I cleaned the connections with electrical cleaner and reinstalled the cluster. It seems to solved the problem. The dash lights are L.E.D.'s and when I was removing the cluster I performed the Ford Wiggle test and the lights came on. A sharp rap with the palm of your hand on the dash just forward of the steering wheel will light it up every time. Repeat when needed

Why does your odometer not work on your 2000 expedition?

The problem, lovingly referred to as the intermittent vanishing odometer, is common with F-150's and Expeditions. It is caused by a loose connection due to a cold solder joint on the ribbon cable receptacle that connects the odometer display to the instrument cluster. The Ford dealer will probably insist on replacing parts, but the problem can be fixed by simply resoldering the bad connection. That takes some soldering skill and only after removing the instrument cluster and gaining access to the back of the instrument cluster where the connector is located. A detailed repair manual describing the problem, including step-by-step instructions, with color photographs of the entire repair process can be obtained at http://www.odometer-repair.com. It covers every detail of removing the instrument cluster, identifying and removing the defective circuit board and repairing the defective solder joints.

How do you change the instrument panel dash lights on a Ford Taurus - Mercury Sable?

When you see two green arrows and have no dash lights !!!A sharp rap with the palm of your hand on the dash just forward of the steering wheel will light it up every time. Repeat when needed.Remove radio/climate control panelRemove upper steering column coverRemove headlight switch and unplug it.Remove upper trim panel (the one that surrounds the instrument cluster and has three air conditioner vents in it)Remove four screws holding instrument cluster, pull it out enough to unplug the electrical connections at the top rear, remove cluster. Light bulbs are in twist/remove sockets in back. Take them out to replace bulbsYou don't have to remove the whole dash to replace the bulbs. You only have to remove the individual componets that are illuminated, like the heater control head and instrument cluster. Each piece will have a bezel or trim piece around it. You will have to study each piece to see if there are any screws, but you may only need to pry it loose. If you don't see any screws, carefully pry just a little bit on each corner of the trim cover to see if it comes loose fairly easily. Once you get each trim bezel off around the item you want to remove to replace the illumination bulbs, then there will be four 7mm screws on the heater control head, and there will also be four 7mm screws on the instrument cluster. As you remove each item, unplug the connectors, and turn it over to reveal the little bulb sockets. Each socket comes out with a 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to remove it.
