In some cases, new homes have a lot of dust in the air from construction (especially sanding). This should settle relatively fast. Alternatively, there could be a problem with the detectors themselves. You may wish to sweep the surfaces of the detector with a vacuum and then wipe them down with a lightly damp cloth. If problems persist, contact the manufacturer or, if the home is new, your contractor. Good luck,
