For soldiers? Depending were they where. If a soldier was lucky enought to sleep in Barracks or Fort, they would sleep in cots. Though many shoulders had to sleep with out these "comforts." they normal on the ground, and whatever they can find. It would be horrible, espcially in the cold.
The common infantryman/Grunt would know what it was like to be wet and cold , a sleeping bag would get wet and stay that way , the ground would be uncomfortable because of rocks and the hard ground/mud , in a combat zone you would have to sleep with your boots on in case of attack , insects would be a problem , sleeping comfortably would be a challenge . Semper Fidelis (USMC motto meaning "Always Faithful")
During World War 1, soldiers often had disrupted and irregular sleeping patterns due to the challenging conditions of trench warfare. They would often experience sleep deprivation and were frequently exposed to loud noises, harsh weather conditions, and the constant threat of enemy attacks. Additionally, the stress and trauma of war could also make it difficult for soldiers to get restful sleep.
Like being in hell. There are NO good conditions in a war, it's all bad, all stupid and vulgar
Shocking

they were really crowded from all the wounded, and died coming in
The sleeping in dug outs it was very damp due to the soil absorbing all the rain water. You would have to sleep with rats and all kinds of creatures. You would find lice in your sleeping area as they like warm place to get away.
absoloutly dreadly there would of been rats everywhere.
In most cases, if I understand your question correctly, yes. An example of this would be: * I like swimming, skiing, and sleeping. These next examples are what would be incorrect: * I like swimming, skiing and sleeping. * I like swimming skiing and sleeping. * I like swimming, skiing, sleeping.

That would depend on where in the world you were starting from, which you have not specified. After that, it would also depend on things like the type of boat and weather conditions.
