I would talk with her about it until deciding if she really likes him. If you both like him, don't fight over him. If you two are so "in love" with this guy then why don't you ask him who he likes? If he doesn't like either of you than that's his problem. If he likes your friend be happy for her. If he likes you then "yay" for you. Then your problem will be solved and you can both move on.
