We get the word "cross" from the Latin word, "crux" -- a language in which the original manuscripts were not "inspired" by God. Wherever the word "cross" appears in the KJV Bible... the inspired word for it is "stauros," which means:

"...a stake or post (as set upright)...". An "upright pale."

Or, as Peter records, regarding Christ: "...who His own self bare our sins in His own body ON THE TREE..." (I Peter 2:24).

The King James translators employed the Latin Vulgate translation of the scriptures extensively in their work... from which their version of the Word of God inherited the word "cross"... instead of the word "stauros" or "stake" or "upright pale" or "tree."

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree..." (Gal.3:13).

It was a "tree trunk" upon which Jesus was hanged. An "upright pale." It was this single post that Jesus hauled to the execution site... not a "cross member" to attach to a separate upright member.

If there was anything resembling a "cross" in His murder... it was the "sign" that they attached above Him, which labeled Him: "the king of the Jews." This sign would have attached "across the top."

Saying all this, then -- considering that Jesus was hung from an "upright pale"... His hands would have been "crossed" above His head, and His wrists would have been "nailed together" at the same time.

And we can be fairly certain that it didn't matter to Him at the time which wrist was in front.

How was Jesus tOURCHERED?

Jesus the Christ was nailed through his wrists and ankles to a large wood cross, and left in agony. When this happens (being crucified), breathing becomes very difficult, and the person dies of suffocation. Many pictures and sculptures show Jesus being nailed to the cross through his hands and feet, but that is not how the Romans did it! A person nailed this way would tear away from the nails before they died. So they nailed through the wrists and ankles. Many think that the Roman soldier who speared Jesus in the side was trying to torture Him, but that was simply how they determined if the person had died, yet.

What does jesus' right hand nailed to the cross mean?

This is a very critical topic in Christianity. Jesus died to save our lives. Isn't that cool?! Anyway, Jesus' feet, left and right hand were nailed to the cross. Either hand doesn't have a special meaning, just He was nailed there to die and save our sins. God's amazing. I love Him so much!
