Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1991
The Country Saddam Hussein invaded was Kuwait for their resources and because Iraq thought that they would get more power , but the invasion just lead to another war .
Saddam Hussein ordered his army to invade Kuwait in August 1990 primarily to gain control over its oil reserves and to address Iraq's economic troubles following the Iran-Iraq War. He believed Kuwait was overproducing oil, which lowered prices and harmed Iraq's economy. Additionally, Hussein sought to assert regional dominance and viewed Kuwait as historically part of Iraq. The invasion led to international condemnation and the subsequent Gulf War.
They feared Saddam Hussein would eventually invade Saudi Arabia
The Gulf War was started because Saddam Hussein wanted to invade Kuwait. He wanted to acquire all of Kuwait's oil and wealth so the US among many other countries in the world stepped in to stop Hussein.
