I think it was in 1817, the same year she died.
Jane Austen, the author, died in the year 1817, which is (as I type) almost 200 years ago.
Jane Austen started feeling ill about a year and a half before she died, and her illness continued through that time.
Jane Austen was born in a village called Steventon, in the north of Hampshire. She lived at the rectory there until she was about twenty five years old, when she moved with her family to Bath..
Jane Austen's novels were first published in America in 1832. An edition of Pride and Prejudice was released in the United States that year.
When Jane Austen originally wrote Pride and Prejudice it was called First Impressions. In 1813, Pride and Prejudice was published.
Jane Austen wrote six novels in total. The other five are Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. Northanger Abbey and Persuasion were both published in 1818, the year after Austen's death.
Emma
Jane Austen died at 4:30 am on July 18, 1817 at the age of 41. Although the actual cause of death is unknown, it is possible that she died from Addisons Disease. ----- Most likely Addison's disease or Hodgkin's Lymphoma no one really knows for sure ----- Jane Austen's health began to decline early in 1816. The cause of the decline is not known, but a number of illnesses have been suggested. Her health continued to deteriorate for about a year, during which she continued to work, though at a reduced pace. In April of 1817, she became bedridden, and on July 18, 1817 she finally passed away. There is a link below.
Jane Austen was born on December 16, 1775
Sense and Sensibility was Jane Austen's first published book in 1811. The manuscript was published through Thomas Egerton of the Military Library publishing house. When the book was published, the author was written as only, "a Lady". A second edition was later advertised in 1813.
I'm 14 and I've loved Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Emma by Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. They're all great books!
Jane Austen wrote the novel between 1796 and 1796, although it wasn't published until 1813. It is a "present day" novel and therefore is set in the last decade of the 18th century.
