What is Tibet and what is the current problem?

Tibet was once a country that was very traditional, and not very modernized. China invaded it and began to take it over. Just in the past year or so it has officially become a part of China. On maps of China it now shows Tibet within its borders, it is just a section of China now.

What is the timezone of Tibet?

Tibet operates on China Standard Time (CST), which is UTC+8. Despite its geographical location, Tibet does not observe any local time zone differences and adheres to this single time zone used throughout China. This means that local time in Tibet does not adjust for the significant variations in daylight hours experienced throughout the year.

Why did China take over Tibet?

Well, China is not the first to conquer Tibet, although the Chinese did occupy Tibet briefly in the 600s. The first people to completely conquer Tibet is the Mongols in the 1200s. But the Mongols in China ended up becoming sinicized (became Chinese) as do almost every other nomadic tribes that conquered China. So they established a Chinese dynasty called the Yuan and Tibet is incorporated to the Mongol Chinese Yuan empire. The Yuan dynasty only lasted 80 years and then a peasant rebellion in China kicked the Mongols back to the Gobi Desert. A new Chinese dynasty(Ming) is established and continued to rule Tibet for the next 300 hundred years. When the Ming dynasty ended in 1644, the Manchus(a former vassal of the Ming emperors) unified China and they also ruled Tibet. So all in all, Tibet was part of the Chinese empire for 800 years. In 1911, the last Chinese dynasty was toppled and a republic was formed. However, a year later civil war begin in the republic as each province of china seceded from the union and ruled in de-facto independence, the ruler of these independence regions was called the Warlords and they fought each other for control of China. During this time, Tibet also had de-facto independence like every other province of China. China went from the warlord era to World War II( against the Japs) and then to the fighting between Communists and the Nationalists( from 1945-1949). The Communists won and unified China( including Tibet) for the first time in 40 years. So depends on what time period you are talking about. Why did the Communists conquer Tibet( well as part of their unification process). Why the Yuan dynasty, MIng dynasty, or the Qing dynasty conquer Tibet( to expand the territory of the Empire)

Who was involved in the Mao Ze-Dong genocide of Tibet?

It is widely acknowledged, even by China, that Tibetans possess a distinct cultural identity. To most of the people genocide in Tibet by China is disgusting. It is to me. Today there is still genocide going on in Tibet. Thousands of monks and other Tibetans are being held captive and tortured. Also millions of Chinese are moving into Tibet, making the Tibetans a minority in their own country. In 1950, one year after Mao Zedong took control of China, Chinese forces invaded Tibet. The Cultural Revolution in China started soon after millions across China and Tibet were killed. Mao Zedong like Hitler and Stalin was an extremist Darwinian and the Survival of the Fittest was incorporated in those atheist governments.

When did Dalai Lama come to India?

At the age of two, Tenzin Gyatso was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama. Thirteen years later, in 1950, he was enthroned as the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. The Nechung Oracle was his oracle, and the official state oracle for Tibet. The Nechung Oracle had predicted that the 14th Dalai Lama would lose his country. He also predicted that the Dalai Lama would lose his life if he didn't leave in 1959. For that year, there was an attempt to end nine years of Chinese occupation. The uprising failed, and the Chinese eliminated the resistance movement. Though himself a Hindu, Indian Prime Minister Nehru let the Dalai Lama set up a government-in-exile just across the Tibet-India border, in Dharmsala. For Dharmsala already had an established Tibetan community, and established Buddhist monasteries. It has been predicted that if the Dalai Lama lives to be 100, he will get his country back.
