The Thirteenth Amendment, which ended slavery in the United States, was ratified in 1865. The Ku Klux Klan was founded the same year.
Slavery was banned when the Civil war began on on April 12, 1861, at 4:30 a.m.
More then likely low hundreds week ends are worst we kill more of each other in year then the Klan did in its history
Man behind the 14th Amendment, which ends slavery. Stevens and President Johnson were absolutely opposed to each other. Known as a Radical Republican
After the Civil War, Reconstruction in the South begins. Former slaves start going to Freedmen's schools; school's made for former enslaved people that were held in churches, abandoned buildings, bathrooms (sometimes), etc. Since President Andrew Johnson's idea on Reconstruction didn't include former slaves' rights, Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1866; a law that states that all persons born in the U.S. (except Native Americans) had the rights of any citizen. After it was passed, Johnson vetoed it, causing congress to pass the 14th Amendment. But soon the African Americans would meet a group of enemies called the Klu Klux Klan. The Klu Klux Klan is a white racial group that targeted African Americans and anyone who supported helping slaves; such as the Freedmen's schools' teachers. In 1870, the 15th amendment was passed; an amendment allowing anyone (besides females) can vote despite race or color. This was a huge accomplishment to the former slaves.I hoped this helps anyone. Thank you for reading!
Wage slavery refers to a situation where a person is dependent for a livelihood on the wages earned, especially if the dependency is total and immediate. The person is working but not making enough money to live so they need to work other jobs to make ends meet. The person can't quit the job because they need it to live. This is wage slavery.
the compromise was not a good solution to the conflict because it was very controversial. The Fugitive Slave law required northern states, even those that had ruled slavery illegal, to abide by southern laws that declared slavery legal. it caused more conflicts in the ends and put off the civil war for about 10 years
Well it's kind of tricky that question because in the anime Alto certainly does tell Klein Klan that he likes Ranka more than Sheryl and confesses as well that he loves her to Klein Klan. (of course Sheryl was listening at the time) But in the end of the anime Alto doesn't pick either of the girls Ranka or Sheryl, he infact ends up choosing the "Sky" as his choice. In the manga i think it's different? I unfortuntely don't know about the manga - if and i hope it's Ranka he goes with but I'm not quite sure.
Well I personally believe that slavery was and is wrong. You shouldn't treat people by the color of the skin it's what inside that matters. I know it might sound lame but it's true.:)It's not lame. If someone that think this is lame, that THING is not a person.comment: Although slavery in the Americas was only with whites owning blacks, I think you are getting slavery confused with racism. This makes sense, since our main impression of slavery is America's history with slavery. But slavery has nothing to do with race, and slavery is not the same thing as "treating people by the color of the skin" because a black man can (and had been) a slave to another black man, and a white man can (and has been) slave to another white man. Though I agree that slavery is cruel and evil, it is not the same thing as racism or segregation.
