Gemini 6 was launched on December 15, 1965, and Gemini 7 was launched on December 4, 1965. Gemini 6 famously performed a rendezvous with Gemini 7 in space.
Jim Lovell went on four space flights during his career as an astronaut. He flew on Gemini 7, Gemini 12, Apollo 8, and Apollo 13 missions.
1965. The astronaut was Edward Higgins White II and the flight was Gemini 4.
Yes, Gus Grissom went to space as part of NASA's Gemini and Mercury programs. He was the second American to fly in space during the Mercury-Redstone 4 mission in 1961 and also flew on the Gemini 3 mission in 1965.
Edward H. White II was the first American to walk in space during the Gemini 4 mission in 1965. However, he did not walk on the Moon. The first manned Moon landing occurred in 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission, when Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the Moon.

In 1965, NASA launched the Gemini program, focused on developing space travel techniques required for Apollo moon missions. Gemini 4 marked the first American spacewalk by astronaut Ed White. The Soviet Union launched Voskhod 2, carrying the first human to conduct a spacewalk, Alexei Leonov. It was also the year of the first commercial communications satellite, Early Bird, launched by NASA.
Gus Grissom actually went into space twice. The first time was in July 1961--a 15 minute suborbital flight aboard "Liberty Bell 7" (officially listed as MR-4). The second time was in March 1965 for 3 orbits aboard Gemini 3.
Astronaut Ed White exited Gemini 4 over the Claifornia coast on June 3, 1965 to become the first American to walk in space. Jim McDivitt stayed inside the capsule and photographed White through his window. The photos McDivitt took became some of the most iconic images in the history of space exploration. White spent 20 minutes outside the vehicle. When he reentered Gemini 4 and closed the hatch, they were just east of the Florida coast. Gemini 4 was White's only spaceflight. He died in the Apollo 1 fiire on January 27, 1967. McDivitt later commanded the Apollo 9 mission which tested the first Lunar Module in earth orbit.
