The Normandy Landings, D-Day, were June 6th 1944.
The original date was to be June 5 of 1944, but due to a terrible storm the invasion was postponed until the next day, on June 6.

If Operation Overload was not a success the allies would have been pushed back into the ocean and the invasion of Normandy would've failed. The whole point of Operation Overload was to send so many troops that it would have been nearly impossible to not take the beach, but it turned out that the US and british lost very many men. France would not have been liberated and the Allied Forces might have lost the war since France was a vital point for Hitler and his troops.
during the generator operation (The operation that send the allies army from france to england),hilter ordered the solders to stop the attack and he ordered the air force to attack the allies army. But in the days(except the first two days and the last day)english channel and the northern france was froggy, cloudy and rainy, which is not suitable for the plane to fly.So that nazi stop all their attack and the allies had enough time to retreat their army to england. And this make the allies had enough army to stat the nomad operation in 1944.And this make allies to win

I don't think it did. The purpose of the Italian Campaign up to June 1944, was to keep the Germans tied down in one area so they could not send more troops to Russia. When the Allies leaders met, the Russians demanded that the US and British engage the Germans in order to draw more men away from Russia. I don't believe the Italian Campaign caused the Germans to give up men from the Normandy defense. The operation that landed troops in southern France helped to relieve pressure off of the Normandy front. These troops did come from Italy so it might be true that the Italian Campaign helped secure success in Normandy.
