Crystal Palace is itself a well known landmark of South London and the highest point in London. It is topped with a television broadcasting aerial and the surrounding public open space has model dinosaurs from the original Great Exhibition of 1851.
The Great Exhibition was held in Hyde Park in 1851. A steel and glass building was built in the park, specifically to hold the exhibits. This glass building became known as the Crystal Palace. When the exhibition was over, the 'Crystal Palace' was dismantled and re-assembled in Upper Norwood, a suburb of South London and the highest point in London, where it remained until it mysteriously burnt down in 1936. It is rumoured that it was burnt down deliberately by government agents because it would have been an easy navigation point for incoming German bombers in the expected coming war. The stone foundations of the 'Crystal Palace' still exist and there is a station and football team named after it.

There is a very popular restaurant in Magic Kingdom called Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace has character appearances including Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger. The Character interaction is great as the characters will make their way to each table. This restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and keep in mind that this restaurant is a buffet. The buffet is really good but be aware that ADR (advance dining reservations) are highly recommended because of popularity. Have fun and enjoy your meal!
