They then came to the New World and after failing to establish a colony in Georgia in 1735 and then in 1741 they tried again this time successful in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 1753 the Moravians purchased land in North Carolina and called it Wachovia. Wachovia had a town called Bathabara which is modern-day Winston-Salem and now Bethlehem and Winston-Salem are now the two capitals of the northern and southern provinces, respectively, of the Moravian Church in the USA.
