They are in a new environment and are more unlikely to vote. By lowering the age to 16, they have a feeling of how to vote and are more likley to vote when they grow up · Since 16 year old pay taxes, they should be allowed to vote · Believing that 16 year olds won't vote well is wrong. You may believe that 16 year olds will vote for Mickey Mouse or Britney Spears but 16 year olds who have no intrest to vote won't vote. · If a 16 year old can be charged as an adult, they sould be allowed to vote · A study from Professor James Flynn said that the majority of 16 year olds are smarter than their parents. · In Lower Saxony in Germany, when they lowered the voting age to 16, more 16 year olds showed up than 18-24 · We teach our children about the government but they will eventually lose interest as they wait to turn 18. Because voting is so important, it should be one of the last rights given. · Should 12 year olds be allowed to vote because of school policies, should toddlers be allowed to vote because health services affect them? No. We trust the parents to make the best decisions for their families. There are also other ways for minors to have a say such as having a protest. By allowing 16 year olds to vote, they may vote for someone who will allow the use of an illegal drug or make a bad drug cheaper.
