Your cylinders could be backfiring on you. Bring it on to a mechanic. You could also have problems with your computer. But with a civic my guess is the cylinders.
Camry's engines are not interchangeable. Even more you cannot replace 4 cylinders with 6 cylinders from the same year model. Basically you have to find the same year model of the engine.

Depends on the brand and model of engine. Briggs, older Kohler and single cylinder Kawasakis are generally vacuum driven from the crankcase. Kohler Command singles and twin cylinder Kawasaki are usually mechanical. Twin Command are vacuum. Some of the Yanmars and the EFI Kawasakis are electric. So, model matters.
