They began work on the Forbidden City in 1406, and finished in 1420.
none.... forbidden city is just a name people don't actually get forbidden :)
1 year
It is finished by the third emperor of Ming Dynasty, Ming Chengzu (title: 明成祖) - Zhu Di (name: 朱棣).
It obviously took a long time to build, so it's hard for historians and other people involved in the history of the Forbidden City, to be able to tell when exactly the construction started or finished. It was built between about 1406 and 1420 during the Ming Dynasty. Trying to find the year is hard enough, but my point is, there is no exact month, or day, for that matter, when the Forbidden City was built, because it was over such a large period of time that it's just hard to tell. Basically, you can't build a city in a day. Hope this helps :) CJ
