The volunteers selfless work motivated and inspired others to follow them, and by 1975, two new regional chapters of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC East and JVC Midwest) had formed. JVC Southwest was established in 1977, followed by JVC South 1980, and finally JVC International in 1983.
