Rome Colosseum: Construction began under Emperor Vespasian around 72 AD but was completed and dedicated around 8 years later in 80 AD by Vespasian's son, Titus. Officially named the Flavian Amphitheatre, the Colosseum got its nickname, from Nero's nearby colossus, a 120 ft. tall statue of himself. I believe this is the first one. Others include:

Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA: Construction on the arena began on May 24, 1968 and the venue opened in 1970
L. A. Coliseum: commissioned in 1921 as a memorial to World Way I veterans but rededicated to all veterans in 1968. The ground breaking ceremony took place on December 21, 1921. Construction work was completed in about 16 months, on May 1, 1923.
