It is called the Place de la Concorde.
It was designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755 and it was then called the Place Louis XV and it had a statue on it of Louis XV (then King of France). During the revolution the statue was torn down and the place got a new name: Place de la Revolution.
After the reign of terror (but still during the revolution, in 1795) it got the name it still has today: Place de la Concorde (concorde = peace).
