The first piece of the International Space Station (ISS) launched was the Zarya module, also known as the Functional Cargo Block (FGB). It was launched by Russia on November 20, 1998, aboard a Proton rocket. Zarya served as the initial component of the ISS, providing power, storage, and propulsion capabilities. This marked the beginning of the assembly of the ISS, which has since grown into a collaborative international project involving multiple space agencies.

In 2001 Dennis Tito became the first "Space Tourist".
Skylab was the first space station launched and operated by NASA from 1973 to 1979. The first space station was launched by the Soviet Union in 1971.The core module for the International Space Station was launched in 1998.
The International Space Station (ISS) was launched in parts and assembled in space over multiple missions, beginning in 1998. The first module, Zarya, was launched on November 20, 1998.
The International Space Station was assembled in orbit; it is much too large to have been launched as a single unit. Most of the component modules of the ISS were carried into orbit by one of the space shuttles, which always launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The first ISS module launched is the Zarya module of the Russian section of the station. It was launched last 20 November 1998 on a Russian Proton launcher.
First of all, the international space station was not launched. The first part was launched but all the other parts of the iss were put on by astronauts in space shuttle missions the construction began in 1998. By 2000 people were able to live on the iss. As they lived they attached parts. The construction was complete in 2011. Soo yeah it was not really launched. I hope I helped:)
The first module of the International Space Station launched into orbit was Zarya, which was launched by Russia in November 1998. Zarya served as a fuel storage and propulsion module for the early stages of the ISS assembly.
The first US space station was named Skylab. It was launched by NASA in 1973 and remained in orbit until 1979.
The International Space Station (ISS) was first launched into space on November 20, 1998. It has been continuously inhabited since November 2, 2000.
