No. The Jehovah's Witness movement was started by Charles Taze Russell in 1878, although back then they called themselves "The Bible Students". They renamed themselves when they began to go international to "The International Bible Students", but it wasn't until 1931 that they took on the name Jehovah's Witnesses under the controversial leadership of Joseph ("Judge") Rutherford.
