Anne Frank and her family were in the attic for 2 years and 1 month. On the morning of July 6th 1942, the Frank family moved into the attic of Otto Frank (Anne's dad) building and were later joined by the van Pels family and then Fritz Pfeffer. On the morning of 4 August 1944, a german police following a tip from a unknown source entered the attic and they were all arrested.

Mr. Dussle did hide in the Secret Annex with the Franks. However he did not go into hiding at the same time the Franks did. The Franks went first, then the Van Daans, then Mr. Dussle became the 8th member several months later.
