If it's the Iver Johnson M1 Carbine, they were manufactured from the mid 1960's through the mid 70's. Sorry I can't be more specific.
1958-1973
The Iver Johnson New Trailsman was made between 1985-1991.That is the best that I can do.The serial numbers per year of production are not available in the public domain.
Bill Goforth is the absolute authority on the Iver Johnson revolvers. He can be found on various gun forums such as antiqueguns.com . I rarely defer questions, but on H&R or Iver Johnson Bill has me beat hands down. sales@countrygunsmith.net
18863
look up Iver Johnson check what year they started that would be the year i think it's 1838.
Iver Johnson started making firearms in 1870 as Johnson and Bye. I don't know exactly when they made their first 38 caliber gun, but at least as early as 1893, and they continued to manufacture .38 revolvers until they closed in 1978. A great source of information on Iver Johnson firearms is The book "Iver-Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Firearms 1871-1993" by W. Goforth
1932-1947
The only reference that I could find to a 9 shot Iver Johnson revolver was the model 1900 Target large frame revolver that was made from 1921-1941.i hope that this is the firearm in question.
All that I can say is the Iver Johnson Model 1900 was made from 1900-1941.The Model 1900 Target small frame from 1925-1928,and the large frame model 1900 Target from 1921-1941.I do not know if Iver Johnson kept records of serial number by year? With a serial number that low,I would safely assume that it was made in the first 4 years of production.1900-1904.
