The only reference that I could find to a 9 shot Iver Johnson revolver was the model 1900 Target large frame revolver that was made from 1921-1941.i hope that this is the firearm in question.
this might helpi have a handgun from Iver Johnson and cycle works and its a 32 5 shot and the searial is 78565 and the date eched is niv 17th 1908
The serial number is hidden on the frame under the grip. Removal of the grips will expose the s/n of you gun,then it can be dated. A great source of information on Iver Johnson firearms is The book "Iver-Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Firearms 1871-1993" by W. Goforth
