In most foreign language presentations Mickey Mouse is generally presented under his own name however in Italy his name is Topolino (Little Mouse) . This may be used as his full Italian name in translation would be il Topo Michele and too clumsy to lip sync with the mouth movements.

The character and comic-book, strip, etc derivative is called Topolino- always capitalized. this is the diminutive of Mouse ( topo) and by itself means Little Mouse- capitalized, it refers to the Disney character, Mickey Mouse! By the way it was the only comic strip NOT banned by Mussolini and the Fascist government. Barney Google got in hot water for poking fun, according to the dictator- of the Italian Royal Family- it just so happened Barney Google"s statuesque wife was named Elena- as was the Queen of Italy- who far surpassed her diminutive husband, Victor. Can"t have the Royal Family in the jokey panels! Veto! I forbid- to which I imagine His Majesty replied- Nice work, Benito!
