∙ 14y agoThe character and comic-book, strip, etc derivative is called Topolino- always capitalized. this is the diminutive of Mouse ( topo) and by itself means Little Mouse- capitalized, it refers to the Disney character, Mickey Mouse! By the way it was the only comic strip NOT banned by Mussolini and the Fascist government. Barney Google got in hot water for poking fun, according to the dictator- of the Italian Royal Family- it just so happened Barney Google"s statuesque wife was named Elena- as was the Queen of Italy- who far surpassed her diminutive husband, Victor. Can"t have the Royal Family in the jokey panels! Veto! I forbid- to which I imagine His Majesty replied- Nice work, Benito!
