A character study is a detailed examination and analysis of a character's personality, traits, motivations, and development within a story. It involves looking closely at the character's behaviors, relationships, and inner thoughts to gain a deeper understanding of their role in the narrative.
Personality is more about the type of person someone is and their character. Emotion is about feelings, like anger, sadness etc. You emotions and how you express them, are part of your character and personality, but there is much more to your personality than that.
A flat character is one who has only one personality trait which does not change. Characters who are deeper are seen to have more than one personality trait which are sometimes in conflict, or values which come into conflict. Such internal conflicts are at the centre of literary character development. They can lead to changes in the character's personality. It is not uncommon to see a character portrayed as a flat character at the outset of a story but who becomes more complex as we learn more about him or her.
It makes a product more memorable, and adds perceived value by endowing it with a character and personality with which the consumer enjoys a growing relationship.
