My 1987 RX7 GXL automatic is getting its' THIRD Neutral Safety Switch, also called the Inhibitor Switch. The switch allows the starter circuit to start the car if the gear selector is in P or N. If the selector is in any other gear the circuit will not open and the car will not start. Sometimes the switch can be "adjusted". Most of the time it is replaced for about $435 part and labor.
you will find it on the gearbox itself. Its near the shifer or on the side of the gearbox one is a neutral switch and the other a reverse switch both have only 2 wires coming out of them If ouyr talking about a automatic is olso on the side.. this information is easily found in a workshop manual.. try registering with ausrotary.com or any other rotary forum and search for it there their and free!
