The moai of Rapanui are fascinating statues, most of which would be difficult if not impossible to move from their quarry with today's construction equipment. Their true history remains disputed today because their is no written and very little oral history about them (many islanders were taken into slavery). Also there is an ancient language that was on several tablets they found on this island. It has yet to been translated because no person now a days knows what this means and there are no ancestors that can translate so that is one of the most intriuging parts about it.
