Yes, but how do you decide what is sensible.
Eat right and exercise.
Just men over the age of 21 had the right to vote in the US in 1910.Women didn't have the right to vote until 1920. Before WW2 the age was 21. People said if they were old enough to fight, they were old enough to vote. Both the age change and the women's right change took amendments.
Yes, in every state of the union, 18 year olds are considered adults and are allowed the right to vote.
Eighteen year olds gained the right to vote when President Richard Nixon certified the Twenty-sixth Amendment on July 1, 1971.
The Twenty-sixth Amendment gives 18 year old citizens the right to vote. The voting age was lowed from 21 to 18 in 1971.
The African Americans we're able to vote when the twenty-sixth amendment came into place.
I believe that 16 years old should be allowed to vote as it gets them more involved in politics. One way would be to allow younger people the vote, as it would encourage them to investigate further into how it all works. Some may not be interested at all, that’s fine. But should we really obstruct the opportunities for those interested in learning more? I think it is important for young people to be interested in politics as will affect them hugely at some point in their lives, therefore we should offer 16 year old and over the vote. The 16 year old are mature enough to make the right decisions and vote for the right leader. It will further increase the voter turnout. And the main question is that is the 16 year old have the rights to marriage, driver's licence or even move out., then why can't they be trusted to the right to vote?
For 18 years old, citizen will have the right to vote, but they can give up the right.
