∙ 14y agoWhen the father is 40 years old the son will be 8 years of age. 40 is 5 times greater than 8. Subtracting 4 from each gives you their current ages, 36 and 4.

I guess it depends if either you or him is older. If he is older, then 6 years isn't a lot. My best friends parents (who are divorced) well, her father is 11 years older then her mum. Not at all. It seems strange in these modern times, but right up until the late 40's most men were 7 - 10 years older (sometimes more) than their wives. My father was exactly 8 years older than my mother. If two people love each other then it really doesn't matter. 8 years isn't that much and I highly doubt you are looking for a father figure.
