Aladdin saw Jasmine in the market place outside the palace. Aladdin and Abu had just "borrowed" a piece of fruit when he saw her roaming through the market. She passes by a child wanting an apple and she gives one to him without realizing that she had to pay for it. The merchant tells her to pay up or he will punish her. Aladdin steps in and tells the merchant that she is his crazy sister. After that, they escape to Aladdin's "house" and the rest is Disney history.
