the choke could be sticking causing the car the flood
My 89 jeep Cherokee surges at idle and sometimes stalls but runs fine once you are going what could cause this?
The idle speed needs adjusted upward if an engine stalls when you take your foot off the accelerator while stopping or turning.
i have a 2000 dodge work van 318 engine when i start in the morning it stalls several times until it warms up then ok
i had that problem with mine. the problem was an intake vaccuum leak. the engine wasnt getting enough air sucked in at idle and stalling out.
vacuum leak?
A bad IAC (Idle air control valve) or a vacuum leak or both.
it's either your cam magnet or your mass airflow sensor. i had the exact same issue
idle control valve faulty or needs cleaning
Check the alternator.
engine idleing to slow turn up your idle to 1500 rpm at idle drive safe
I believe you the IAC is a stepper motor not a solenoid. But basically it allows enough air to bypass the throttle valve to keep the engine running at idle. It is controlled by the PCM and if it is no longer working properly it can make your car stall at idle or have a high idle speed. IAC problems are fairly common. If the problem is stalling, sometimes it may look like the IAC is bad when there is in fact another problem such as a PCV system fault, dirty throttle body, or original bad software installed in the PCM. Generally, however, if the car stalls with IAClike problems and you cannot restart the engine without manipulating the accelerator pedal the IAC should be replaced.
maybe your idle to low, if it continues, I have the fluid injection relay switch replaced.
