Small cannon man
Aztecs, Hernando Cortes led a small miltary expedition against the Aztecs and their powerful emporer, Montezuma.
Cortes wanted to go to Asia but he landed in Cuba. After that he sailed east where he found the island of Cozumel. Then he went north then south to end up in Campech.after that he sail to Pontonchon down south.then he sail to San Juan de Ulua where he landed in Mexico.after that her fought against an army of 25,000 men.now Cortes had only 499 men with guns, cannons and 16 horses. When the natives he fought saw the gun power and the horses they freaked out and thought that Cortes and men were gods so they retreated. Only two of Cortes men died and about 5,000 natives died that day in the battle.after that Cortes moved up north and fought more natives. Later Cortes was given about 200,000 to 300,000 men from different native tribes. Later on in 1519, Cortes and his 300,000 men attacked the capital city of the Aztecs called Tenochtitlan. I don't know how Cortes defeated the Aztecs if the Aztecs have over 2 million men, but he did. Later on, Cortes and other Spain armies took over Peasant Day Mexico, US, Middle Americas and the whole content of South America but Brazil.
Some important events in Cortes life are Montezuma gave Precious gold,Jewels and animals. Another event is he set sail to mexico in 11 small ships. Another event is he was determined to conquer the aztecs.
This is a common misconception. In fact, he allied himself to the Tlaxcalan tribe, who were bitter enemies of the Aztecs and also provided 10,000 warriors for Cortes' military campaign against them. Other advantages include steel armor and weapons (swords, knives and axes), horses and of course, some small caliber gunpowder cannons. Finally, smallpox proved to be the biggest advantage they had, as the disease killed tens of thousands of people on the city of Tenochtitlan, weakening it enough so that the Spanish and their allies would conquer it.
First Spain where he was born and then he traveled to Mexico. When he was in Mexico he explored Mexico's pacific coast and discovered the peninsula that is now called Baja, California. Unsuccessfully in appealing to the Spanish court to get permission for another expedition, he settled at a small estate near Seville.
Yes, there are some of them:Paso de Cortes. It is the mountain pass or saddle between the Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihuatl volcanoes in central México.Mar de Cortes. Also known as Gulf of California, it is the body of water that separates the Baja California Peninsula from mainland Mexico.Villa de Cortes. A small town south of Tenochtitlan during colonial times founded by Cortes himself, now within the area of greater Mexico City. There is a subway station at such location, with the same name.
Cortes led the conquest of Aztec Mexico by the Spaniards. His name is normally given as Hernán Cortés. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_conquest_of_Mexico
There is really no antonym for the word cannon, but cannon does really mean large gun so the antonym would logically be small gun.
The Spanish Captain Hernan Cortes arrived in 1519, and invaded the Aztec people indigenous to Mexico, which then was called Aztlan or Tenochtitlan. Within the next ten years about eighty percent of the Aztec people died from war but, mostly from small pox left by the Spanish.
