Redhulk is a character in the Marvel Comic book universe. His character, whose real name is General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross, is an adversary fro the Hulk. Ross's character is the father of Betsy Ross, the love interest for Bruce Banner. Ross was the head of the Gamma Ray project where Bruce Banner was blasted with a gamma ray and became the hulk. Ross was transformed into the red hulk in order to gain the upper hand in his adversarial relationship with both Bruce Banner, and the Hulk.
General Ross became Red Hulk through a gamma radiation experiment that he underwent in an attempt to replicate the powers of the original Hulk, Bruce Banner. The experiment ultimately transformed Ross into the Red Hulk, giving him similar superhuman abilities and strength.
