Finland's Declaration of Independence was given on December 6, 1917 (this later became the Independence Day) and the Bolsheviks (Russia's ruling party; Finland was part of Russia) recognized Finland on December 31, 1917 (N.S.).

The recognitions of other major countries were all given by the end of 1919.
