Yes, of course. ANY crime is harmful to someone or some thing.
There are many examples, but usually: any felony involving the use of ANY type of weapon, or a felony not commited with a weapon but whcih was particularly vicious or heinous (i.e.: rape - etc)
Yes you can,But depending on the crime you might be denied a renewal. In 1996 Immigration laws changed felons who hold a valid Greencard up for renewal can have their Greencard taken away and deported. The law is retroactive,Meaning crimes that were commited prior to 1996 are now reviewed and Immigration decides if you stay in the U.S or are deported. Aggravated crimes(Drugs,Murder,Assault.Robbery and Violent crimes)are grounds for imediate removal regardless of how long ago they were commited. The answer will vary from one country to another. It will also vary from one police authority to another, and over time. Then there is the question of what constitutes violent crimes. Police forces do not all use the same criteria. Further, not all violent crimes are reported. So the best that you can hope for, for a specific area over a specific time period, is a percentage of crimes that are considered violent by the authorities and which are reported for which no arrest is made. There is the further complication that the police may know the guilty party but there is insufficient evidence for any kind of prosecution. So what will the percentage tell you?
A hate crime is assaulting someone because of his race, sex, religious beliefs or other identifying group characteristic. A racist act is Affirmative Action or any other law that mandates special treatment based on race.
