Importing "automatically" is a preference. In iPhoto Prefs you will see the line:
Connecting Camera Opens: menu
Select iPhoto.
Close Prefs.
To have iPhoto open automatically open iPhoto's preferences and make sure that the Connecting camera opens: option is set to iPhoto. The iPod should appear in the left hand pane beneath the Library listing.
To show the Welcome screen in iPhoto you need to open iPhoto and from the Help menu select Welcome To iPhoto. Don't forget to click the tickbox that says "Show this window when iPhoto opens" if you want it to open automatically next time.
Image Capture allows transfer of files in a digital camera to a folder on your hard drive without the use of iPhoto.
A new MacBook comes with iLife '09 which includes iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb, iDVD.
Yes you can, by first importing them into iPhoto or another photo editing/managing program. It is not possible directly from the iPhone, it requires the use of a computer. Easiest method is with a Mac and iPhoto, you can set your photos to import automatically through iTunes or iPhoto when your phone is connected.
I'm not sure that it's gone completely from your system. Try looking through the finder to see where the file for iphoto could be. If you don't have any luck, you can probably look up the download on google. It's most likely free.

Answer 1:Okay do NOT get an iBook over a Macbook EVER!!! iBooks are very old and extremely slow. they cant have all the programs a macbook can get either. And do Not get the macbook air. get the macbook or the macbook pro. The air would break easier and doesnt have a disk drive. Macbook may be expensive, but it is worth is.Answer 2:The G3 iBooks are too old to be useful but the G4 iBooks are fine if you are web browsing, emailing, Facebooking, text editing, using iTunes and iPhoto etc. They can run Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). They cannot run 10.6 (Snow Leopard), the latest versions of iMovie, other movie editing /music creating software nor the latest games which will require a newer MacBook.
The Apple Macbook 13" laptop comes with the Leopard operating system, and the software that is preloaded is; iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, iTunes and Safari web browsing.
Connect the camera via USB and the drive will appear on the desktop. You can configure iPhoto to automatically download the images from the camera.
It is not possible to get iPhoto for Windows. iPhoto is only available for Mac. Windows does have several alternatives to iPhoto like Windows Live Photo Gallary and Picasa.
