When Ipod touch is docked in speakers the sound still comes through the ipod -not the speakers why could this be?

There are many possible problems. Here are the only problems I can think of: Your docking station is not plugged in. Your docking station is not turned on. You didn't hit the play button. You didn't turn the volume on. Your not patient, because it will play without speakers for the first 10 seconds. Your docking station takes more time than 10 seconds to start because it's old or of low quality. Your dock is broken.
