In Luke 2:22 Mary and Joseph take Jesus to the temple to present Him to the Lord.
There was a man in the temple by the name of Simeon. The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would see the Lord's Christ before he died. He recognized Jesus as that Messiah.
Then in verse 36 we are introduced to Anna, a prophetess who lived in the temple night and day praying. She also saw Jesus and spoke to the Lord and gave Him thanks for the Messiah Jesus.
