Mary and Joseph thought Jesus was with their friends.
3 days
Bethlehem was where Jesus was born. Mary and Joseph traveled there to take part in a nationwide census. Shortly after Jesus was born, the family traveled back home to Nazareth.
Mary and Joseph journeyed to Bethlehem from Nazareth (in the north - in the region of Galilee) when Mary was pregnant. Jesus was then born in Bethlehem. The family settled there for two years or more and then returned to nazareth where Jesus grew up. The only other record we have of his childhood was when Mary and Joseph took him on a visit to Jerusalem (NOT Bethlehem) when he was 12 years old.
Mary , Joseph and the baby Jesus fled in the night to Egypt.
He was 12 years old when He was lost in Jerusalem. He was found in the temple after 3 days by Mary and Joseph his parents.
In Matthew's Gospel, Joseph, Mary and Jesus were returning to their family home in Bethlehem after the death of Herod, when God appeared to Joseph in a dream and told them to turn aside and go to Galilee, where they settled in Nazareth.
Joseph and Mary were the parents of Jesus of Nazareth.
Joseph and Mary are known as the earthly parents of Jesus in Christian tradition. Joseph is described as a carpenter or craftsman, while Mary is revered as the mother of Jesus who conceived him through the Holy Spirit. Both figures play central roles in the nativity story and are considered important figures in Christianity.
Mary was Jesus's real mother; she bore him into the world. But Joseph was in a way not the father. For God put baby Jesus in Mary's womb; Joseph was Mary's wife and the father to bringing up Jesus.
